A lot of people in the blogsphere, including in the article, seem to think that he was refused care because he was goth. I didn't get that from the story of events.
I am, however, really disgusted that he was refused healthcare for the inverted cross he was wearing. I'd like to think that whomever my caregivers are, they would set their personal feelings aside and give me the treatment I needed. In any other place, I can see the clerks actions to be justified... but in healthcare things like religion, political views, and personal opinions do not matter. Everyone has the right to it, no matter what they believe in.
